Why do many companies “do GEO” but still get no AI traffic, no citations, and no B2B inquiries?
In most failed GEO implementations, content is “published” but not AI-retrievable or citable: it lacks verifiable hard evidence slices (e.g., ISO 9001 certificate number, third-party test report ID, parameter ranges/tolerances) and lacks machine-readable structure (FAQ, tables, Schema). In B2B, if you don’t cover the full chain “model → parameters → standards → applications → delivery terms,” AI systems have insufficient grounds to cite you—so traffic, citations, and inquiries stay low.
What “no AI traffic / no citations / no inquiries” usually means in GEO
In generative search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), an AI answer is assembled from retrievable sources and prioritized by trust + specificity. When GEO produces no measurable results, the root cause is typically not “insufficient posting,” but insufficient evidence and structure for AI retrieval and citation.
1) Content is published, but not citable (missing verifiable evidence slices)
AI systems cite and recommend sources that contain checkable, atomic facts. If your pages only contain narratives (company intro, generic capabilities), the AI has nothing to verify or quote.
